Jean Oostrom is a Brain Injury Survivor who created this website for people who have brain injuries, their caregivers to provide hope that recovery is ongoing and achievable.
Jean created this site after she had a stroke 13 years ago and thought that she could help people if she created a site that was created from the point of view of the brain injured person.
Her point of view is based on the journey that she has been on since her stroke and what has worked and what is still working
The history of the logo for Living With My New Brain was part of the recovery.. When Jean was trying to learn how to write again she would draw this Bird of Hope over and over again to increase her dexterity. Jean hopes that this symbol will be a symbol of hope for other people who are having their challenges with their brain injury.
